Here is a brief overview of what is involved with each position as well as an estimated time commitment

 

President/Co-President

Time Commitment: 10 hours per month. An average of 1 meeting per month alternating between membership and board

Duties: The president will work with our existing president as the presiding officers and official spokespersons for the PTA. They will preside over meetings. They will plan the agenda with the secretary utilizing input from others. They will communicate regularly with officers and chairs and will be available to respond to member queries They will maintain a positive relationship with the principal and other staff members. Role begins on 07/01/2022 and ends 06/31/2023.

 

Vice President/Co-Vice President

Time commitment: 6-8 hours per month. An average of 1 meeting per month alternating between membership and board

Duties: Vice Presidents may be required to preside at meetings in the absence of the presidents. They will act as assistant to the presidents and may also be committee chairs depending on the needs of the board. Role begins on July 1st, 2022 and ends June 31st, 2023.

Treasurer

Time commitment: 10-12 hours per month. An average of 1 meeting per month alternating between membership and board

Duties: The treasurer is responsible for all bookkeeping and financial record keeping for the PTA.  Bookkeeping duties include receiving and recording all payments in the financial management system, processing & paying all invoices and reimbursement requests, and setting up and maintain the annual budget. They are also responsible for filing tax returns, providing monthly reports to the board of directors and membership and preparing files for the two annual internal audits, which are conducted by the financial review committee in January and July of each year

 

Secretary/Co-Secretary

Time commitment: 6-8 hours per month. An average of 1 meeting per month alternating between membership and board

Duties: The duties of the secretary include taking minutes, planning agendas, handling correspondence, and keeping an up-to-date roster of members and a current record of all committees.  The secretary shall also be the monthly bank statement reviewer.
